Kelly Oubre Jr.| Biography

Kelly Oubre Jr. was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on December 9, 1995. Oubre and his family moved to Richmond, Texas, Hurricane Katrina in 2005. He began to play basketball in high school at George Bush High School. He immediately transferred to Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nevada for his final year. Obure played one season of college basketball in Kansas before NBA draft 2015.
The Atlanta Hawks selected him before dealing with the Washington Wizards. In 2019, he signed a two-year, $30 million contract with Phoenix. In February of 2020, he had a knee injury that halted his season.

In his freshman year at Kansas, Oubre nominated to the Big 12 All-Newcomer Team. He started 27 of the 36 games he participated in, averaging 9.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per match. Oubre highlighted for the 2015 NBA Draft on April 1, 2015. Sacrificing his three remaining years of eligibility.

NBA Career

Oubre got chosen more with the 15th overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft by the Atlanta Hawks. The Washington Wizards secured his rights and protections in a deal. On December 17, 2018, Oubre and Austin Rivers later traded to the Phoenix Suns in return for Trevor Ariza. On March 16, 2019, Oubre established a career-high of 32 points. With a thumb injury, he confirmed out with the rest of the regular season five days later. The Suns signed Oubre to a two-year, $30 million contract on July 16, 2019. Oubre suffered the injury in February, which held him out for several weeks. In March, he underwent knee surgery.

Phoenix Suns (2018–2020)

On December 17, 2018, Oubre sold to the Phoenix Suns together with Austin Rivers for Trevor Ariza. Two days later, he makes his Suns debut, earning 13 points in a 111–103 win over the Boston Celtics. Oubre matched his season record with 26 points in a 115–111 win over the Sacramento Kings on January 8, 2019. In a 117–107 loss to the Golden State Warriors on February 8, he scored 25 points and a then-career-high 12 rebounds. In a 134–107 loss against the Los Angeles Clippers on February 13, he scored a career-high 28 points. He achieved a career-best with 32 points in a 138–136 overtime win over the New Orleans Pelicans in March. With left thumb damage, he declared out for the entire season on March 21. The Phoenix Suns inked Oubre to a two-year, $30 million contract agreement on July 16, 2019. On December 28, Oubre matched his career even while scoring 20 points in a 112–110 win over the Sacramento Kings.  Oubre tied his career-high of 15 rebounds for the third time in the 2019–20 season. On January 12, 2020, he had 25 points in a 100–92 win over the Charlotte Hornets. Oubre hit a career-high with 39 points in a 127–91 win over the Houston Rockets on February 7.  Despite having played complete 38 minutes against the Utah Jazz.
On February 24, 2020, Oubre is being ruled out the next day due to a right knee injury. A right knee tear was finally diagnosed as the cause of the accident. Oubre underwent successful arthroscopic surgery.
Surgery for a joint or muscle in his right knee, on March 3, 2020, would be re-evaluated in 4 weeks.

Golden State Warriors (2020–2021)

On November 16, 2020, Obure dealt with Okhhlama City Thunder for Abdel Nader and Chris Paul. Along with Jalque Lecque, Ricky Rubio, TyJerome, and a 2022 first round draft pick.

On November 22, Obure traded with Golden State Warriors.In return for a conditional first round pick in 2021 and a conditional second round pick in 2021.

On December 22, 2020, Obure made his Warriors appearance hitting six points.And collecting seven points and rebounds in a 125-99 loss to the Brookyln Nets. Oubre set a career best with 40 points in a 147–116 win over the Dallas Mavericks on February 4, 2021. 

Charlotte Hornets (2021–present)

On August 7, 2021, Oubre signed a two-year, $25 million contract with the Charlotte Hornets. He made his Hornets introduction on October 20, scoring 14 points in a 123–122 win well over the Indiana Pacers.
